It's almost vacation time!

School starts back in session next week, which means my vacation is about to begin!

Don't get me wrong, I love my children and I do enjoy having them home in the summer for the most part. What I don't enjoy is the utter chaos that happens when you have five children and a husband home all day.

I have a very definite need for routine. If I have my routine, I'm very happy and relaxed and things in my life flow. It's wonderful and peaceful (most of the time). Summer with the kids, that routine goes right out the window. My husband doesn't need a routine and is very anti-routine while he's on vacation.

For me, next week really begins a vacation for the workload of excess laundry, running the dishwasher 2-3 times a day, cleaning the living room extra times, etc. I'm so looking forward to waking up in the morning, taking four of the children to school, sitting down to eat breakfast, surfing the net, and then starting on my daily routine. I can get all my work done in less than an hour! I can't even get one room in my house to stay CLEAN for an entire hour during the summer.

so yay! I get my clean house back in a week!

  1. Do you remember a commercial from Office Depot or Staples or some other office supply store that showed a dad pushing a cart down the isles with a super huge grin on his face and the little boy trudging along behind him, head down and glum beyond belief all the while the song "It's The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year" played in the background?!?!
I love my 3 kids, but man, I'm glad when they go back to school!
    16 days and counting...

  2. We have no schedule in the summer either...I'm always ready for school to start and put some organization back into my life!

Thanks and have a great day!
