SNOW! in Central Alabama!

The weather forecast called for snow but we prepped the children that it really wasn't going to happen. Imagine my surprise when I was awakened at 6 a.m. to screams of "IT SNOWED!"

I managed to hold the kids off til 8 a.m. when we let them go outside to play in it. Having served time in Colorado, Utah and Idaho, it wasn't all that much snow to get excited about. Half an inch. Last time it snowed here, we got about that much and it was gone in an hour. The kids made a cute snowman and that was it.

My surprise continued as did the snow. The kids had their snowball fight and came inside once they used up all the snow on the ground. The snow started coming down harder and after about an hour or so we ended up with this...

The forecasters said we were supposed to get LESS than an inch. Just spoke with a neighbor who said the revised forecast is for four inches by 3 p.m.! yikes.

I guess school may not be happening tomorrow after all. It is supposed to be in the 20s tonight so the roads are going to be sheets of ice tonight. Not looking forward to that.

And I just love this picture...

  1. I'm not looking forward to the snow either but I don't have to drive anywhere (thank you telecommuting) and David walks to work.

Thanks and have a great day!
