a very good day

Aside from D being home with a man-cold, today went very well.

I was able to cut out three outfits, one for Kari, one for Lizzy and one for the new baby. I also covered the cork boards for the girls' room once we redecorate. It was super fast. You know, my kind of project.

In the afternoon, I got an email from a freecycler about a wanted item I had posted some weeks ago. She had a baby dresser/changing table for us. We drove out to the middle of nowhere to pick it up today. It was well worth the drive. There are a few fixable issues with it, but it was much nicer than we had ever expected.

When we got home, we had the task then of moving around furniture! yay! We moved everything around and swapped the girls' room and the boys' room. The only casualty being one pane of glass...D dropped the broom and it broke out a pane in the girls' window. I guess the "Good" news is we had set up an appointment before this to have someone give us an estimate on new windows. I really hadn't anticipated having to actually buy a window. I just wanted them to stop calling :P We have a friend from church that does handy man work and I'm going to have D call him to see if we can just replace that single pane instead of the entire window. I know we can use our home owner's insurance but I'd rather not.

I am trying my hardest in lobbying to get rid of things still. I cleared out my fabric stash and several patterns and the old dresser to freecycle. HOPEFULLY someone will actually show up to pick the items up. i'm really sick of people saying they want it and then never showing.

We have a book shelf that we don't really need nor have a place for, but D wants to move a bunch of other things around and put it in the kitchen to hold the microwave instead. This works only because it has a bottom cabinet where I can stash my sewing machine and serger.

Tomorrow, after I put my house back together from all the crazy moving of furniture, I'm going to attack the shed. Things have been out there for months and I haven't had to go out there looking for items...so I must not need them, right?
