Six Words Friday: Beginnings

Children are growing up so quickly
Blossoming and showing signs of independence
It's times like this I wonder
How much they really need Mama
Then I call on MY Mama
She is quick to remind me
They will always need their Mama

Having babies is just the beginning
The journey is watching them grow
The excitement is seeing them bloom
The fear is watching them fall

But they will still need Mama
Catching them. Holding them. Helping them.
Leading them to that next step

Each step is another new beginning
Another journey to take. Alone. Together.

My goal: to give them confidence
Their goal: to give me grey hair

  3. Oh my, the grey hair comes.

New stages: I miss the old.
But I'm glad, too. For growth.
Theirs and mine. Gotta have both. :)
